I’ve been wondering lately—can adventure dates be a thing? I think back to the time I went hiking in Tasmania. It was my first long/overnight trek, and I chose the South Coast Track. Seven days of rugged beauty, completely off the grid. We had to fly in on a tiny plane, get dropped off in the middle of nowhere, and then hike all the way back to civilisation. The journey ended at a road where we were finally picked up and driven back to Hobart. It was exhilarating, challenging, and utterly unforgettable.
Now, I can’t help but think—where are the adventurous gentlemen who love this kind of experience? The ones who would want to bring a beautiful companion along on such a journey?
Picture this: spending the day hiking through breathtaking wilderness, arriving at a secluded campsite, and then you, getting dinner together while I freshen up in river and prepare dessert().
Enjoying each other’s company under a blanket of stars. Sounds like a perfect adventure date to me.
Now, I understand that looking at my photos, you may assume that wilderness adventures are not for me—and I wouldn’t blame you. But I need any outdoor-loving gentlemen to know that while I scrub up well, I can rough it with the best of them (and still look pretty damn good).
Most companions might prefer expensive shopping sprees, designer brands, fine dining, and five-star hotels—and don’t get me wrong, I enjoy all of those things, too—I find that they’re so much more satisfying after an adventure.
Imagine this: After days of sleeping in a tent under the stars, you finally arrive at a luxurious hotel room. The bed feels like heaven, the crisp sheets are a dream, and the hot shower is pure bliss. And that delicious breakfast you order from room service, shared lazily in bed? It’s even tastier when you’ve spent the past week fuelling up on muesli with powdered milk in the wild.
There’s something about contrasting the ruggedness of nature with the comfort of luxury that makes both experiences richer, more fulfilling.
Adventure first, then indulgence—now that’s a combination I could get used to.
